Alaskan Glacier
Today's photo is of an Alaskan Glacier taken during a cruise along the Inside Passage last summer (thanks P&Z). At the moment, I can't recall which glacier this is but believe it was in College Fjord.
It is hard to capture the immensity of a glacier in a photo, but to give it some perspective, the wall of ice you see is 200 to 300 feet high and is the face of the same glacier that is in the background flowing between the mountainsides. We are so grateful to have been able to go on this trip...the opportunities to take photos were limitless. Expect more "Inside Passage" photos in the future.

Alaskan Brown Bear
I wish I could say I captured this image out in the wild, but that's not the case. However, the bear is NOT of the circus variety either. He/she is a wild bear in "rehab" at a wildlife center in Whittier Alaska. I don't think he had any substance abuse issues...most likely he was injured in some way. Maybe by a hunter with a substance abuse issue.
Anyway, he seemed to be happy in his surroundings.
